"Front" Side Table_2018

Born out of necessity and available materials, this table was crafted to be simple and uncomplicated. The tabletop surface is made from a repurposed piece of shipping crate left as scrap from a new piece of German scientific lab equipment from my Dad's lab. The surface is constructed by laminating dissected strips of the plywood sheet revealing the latent beauty of plywood. The end piece was left with the existing "front" stamp. What used to label the front of the shipping crate now labels which direction you should be sitting in my living room. The legs were prefabricated. This table is really great at holding lamps, coffee mugs, remotes, wine glasses, and magazines. I'll keep you posted when I experiment with more things for it to hold.
