Design Duluth: Engaging Morgan Park_2017
West Duluth, MN. University of Minnesota MArch.
This proposal is a three-person interdisciplinary group effort. Other group members include Daniela Duque (Landscape Architecture) and Goldielyn Lopez (Architecture). The project is focused on Morgan Park, a post-industrial U.S.Steel factory town, located on the western half of the 27-mile stretch of Duluth, MN. The proposal aims to lean into an outdoorsy recreational future that rebrands Duluth from its industrial past, with focus on the St. Louis River as a city amenity. The project focuses on reusing the established industrial systems of manufacture and takes cues of post-industrial Duluth into the identity of the community.
