The proposed design is located at Kickapoo State Recreation area, Illinois, and explores the relationship of a center for dance with the landscape. The building sits lightly on stilts in a marshy landscape which makes the walking surfaces and performance platforms hover above the ground. The building utilizes the adjacent hillside as a backdrop for the performance area and provides a cloister-esque promenade for pleasant intermissions and cocktail hours along the water's edge. This project was produced in a Junior level studio at the University of Illinois.
